Job Description

Position: Supply/Tactical Planner

Location: REMOTE

Contract Position

The Role

The Supply/Tactical Planner plays a key role in developing and executing mid- to long-term supply plans (5+ weeks horizon) to ensure inventory stability, production efficiency, and customer satisfaction. This position translates demand forecasts into feasible production and supply schedules while balancing cost, capacity, and service objectives. It requires close collaboration with demand planners, manufacturing sites, and distribution teams to ensure alignment and effective execution across the supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop supply plans: Use advanced planning tools (e.g., optimizers or heuristics) to create supply plans for the 5+ week horizon.
  • Optimize production efficiency: Generate production schedules that maximize manufacturing asset utilization, materials, and storage capacity.
  • Manage raw materials: Create raw material supply plans that balance supplier capacity with internal storage limits.
  • Coordinate with external partners: Align purchased finished goods forecasts with external manufacturers to maintain service levels and minimize costs.
  • Plan product movements: Design finished goods transfer movements that optimize inventory positioning and logistics efficiency.
  • Maintain system accuracy: Ensure planning data in SAP and related tools is current and accurately reflects material or product changes.
  • Support continuous improvement: Lead or participate in special projects focused on process optimization within the supply planning function.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum 2 years in supply chain, planning, or operations roles at a site or central level.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize resources, analyze trade-offs, and make effective operational decisions.
  • Skills:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to build trust and alignment across teams.
  • Working knowledge of supply planning software and related analytical optimizers (e.g., APO, IBP, Kinaxis).
  • Preferred: Experience with SAP or equivalent ERP systems.
