Job Description

The School of Hotel and Tourism Management (SHTM) at CUHK Business School invites applications for Postdoctoral Fellow position(s) specialising in Real Estate Economics and Finance, Regional Economics, Urban Economics, Environmental Economics, Public Economics, and Household Finance.

Applicants should have a PhD (by the time of reporting duty) in Real Estate, Finance, Economics, Public Policy, Management, or related disciplines Strong programming skills (e.g., STATA, SAS, Python, R). Solid knowledge in econometrics, mathematical modeling, and calculus is preferred. Applicants with a strong academic background and PhD candidates (ABD) with relevant research experience are especially welcome to apply. This position offers an outstanding opportunity for early-career scholars to advance their research agendas within a dynamic and collaborative academic environment. The appointee(s) will have the opportunity to work alongside faculty members with expertise in areas such as Real Estate Economics and Finance, Household Finance, Urban Economics, Real Estate, Behavioural Finance, Financial Intermediation, and Monetary Policy.

The appointee(s) will be responsible for (a) conducting high-quality, independent and/or collaborative research in real estate and related fields (b) producing research outputs suitable for publication in top-tier academic journals and (c) participating in the intellectual life of the School and contribute to its research culture.

Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for one year commencing as soon as possible or in August 2026, renewable subject to mutual agreement.

The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) is a public research university in Shatin, Hong Kong, formally established in 1963 by a charter granted by the Legislative Council of Hong Kong.
