Our client, a global insurance business with an established international footprint, is seeking an experienced Head of Internal Audit to lead internal audit activity for its Taiwan entity. Based in Taipei, this is a high-impact leadership role with responsibility for delivering the local audit plan while partnering closely with senior stakeholders and reporting into the global internal audit function at headquarters.
This opportunity will suit a senior audit professional who combines strong technical internal audit capability with excellent stakeholder management, leadership presence and deep understanding of the insurance sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and deliver the internal audit plan for the Taiwan entity, ensuring high-quality execution across key risk areas.
- Act as the senior internal audit leader in-country, building trusted relationships with business leadership and functional stakeholders.
- Partner with the global internal audit team to align local audit activity with broader group objectives and reporting requirements.
- Provide insight and challenge on governance, risk management and control effectiveness across the business.
- Communicate audit findings clearly and influence stakeholders to drive timely and effective remediation.
- Lead, coach and develop audit capability while promoting a strong culture of accountability, independence and continuous improvement.
Key Requirements:
- Extensive internal audit experience, ideally gained within the insurance industry or a similarly regulated financial services environment.
- Proven ability to operate in a senior audit leadership role, with strong judgement and the credibility to influence executive stakeholders.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with a track record of building relationships across complex organisations.
- Demonstrated people leadership capability and experience leading audit delivery in a dynamic business environment.
- Relevant professional qualifications are highly advantageous.
- Fluent Mandarin, Taiwanese Hokkien and English are essential for the role.
