Executive Officer II (Research Administration)

The Jockey Club School of Public Health and Primary Care (JCSPHPC) is the only institutional platform in Hong Kong that integrates public health and primary care teaching and research. To cope with the increasing demand for public health research, the School is now inviting applications for the position of Executive Officer II (Research Administration).

The appointee will join the central administration team of the School, and will be responsible for (a) supporting the School's research administration and facilitating improvements in research performance and rankings (b) providing guidance, direction and instruction regarding all aspects of the proper application and/or adaptation of standards, principles and other guidelines with regard to the submission of proposals and administration of awards for externally-funded activities at the School (c) co-ordinating external and internal research grant applications, research assessment exercises, and research seminars (d) maintaining timely and accurate database of research projects, published papers and conference proceedings and (e) performing secretarial and committee work for the School%27s Research Committee.

Applicants should have (i) a recognised Bachelor's degree (ii) fulfilled the English language requirements set out on the website: (iii) at least 4 years post-qualification executive experience, preferably at tertiary institutions and/or in research administration (iv) a reliable and independent work attitude (v) a meticulous mindset and attentiveness to detail, including accuracy in dates and financial figures (vi) an effective command of written English and Chinese, with good communication skills (vii) computer proficiency in word-processing, spreadsheets, communications tools, and Internet navigation (viii) experience in basic research skills (e.g. asking questions, resolving discrepancies and evaluating results) and (ix) the ability to work collaboratively and build effective professional relationships. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.

Appointment will initially be made on a 2-year contract with contract-end gratuity, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
