Job Description

Job Summary: The Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Payments & Fixed Assets team will be a key member of our Taiwan team, responsible for overseeing and optimizing payment operations and fixed asset management processes. This role requires a strong blend of project management expertise, strategic thinking, meticulous attention to detail, and hands-on experience in in-house payment functions. The AVP will drive efficiency, ensure compliance, and contribute to the strategic development of our payment and fixed asset workflows and systems in Taiwan, including the exploration and implementation of cutting-edge Generative AI solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Payment Operations & Fixed Assets Oversight:
    • Handle daily domestic and cross-border payment operations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and service reliability.
    • Monitor and review the operational health of payment systems, driving continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, network rules, and internal policies related to payments and fixed assets.
  • Process Improvement & Optimization:
    • Identify and implement consistent operational best practices within the payment and fixed assets functions.
    • Utilize data and technology to support the identification of areas requiring improvement and develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure effectiveness.
    • Drive continuous process improvements and support strategic risk initiatives.
  • Project Management & Strategic Initiatives:
    • Lead and manage multiple, concurrent projects aimed at enhancing the bank's operational efficiency and effectiveness within the payment and fixed assets domain.
    • Develop and implement strategic change initiatives, including the identification and assessment of impacts on people, processes, and systems.
    • Partner with cross-functional teams, including Technology, Operations, Risk, Compliance, and Legal, to deliver scalable, secure, and compliant payment and fixed asset solutions.
    • Plus: Identify opportunities and lead initiatives to integrate Generative AI tools and techniques into payment processes automation.
  • Stakeholder Management & Communication:
    • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, business leaders, and external partners to ensure alignment and effective execution of the payment and fixed asset roadmap.
    • Effectively communicate strategy, accomplishments, and drive decision-making with cross-functional and senior leadership audiences.
    • Act as a subject matter expert for the BU/SU, providing guidance on payment and fixed asset requirements and processes.
Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
    • MBA or Master's degree in Business is preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 8-12 years of progressive experience in financial services or consultancy firms, with a strong track record in project management or operational leadership.
    • Experience in a foreign banking organization (FBO) is highly preferred.
    • Experience in an in-house payment function or shared services environment within a financial institution, with exposure to fixed assets.
    • Demonstrated success in leading transformation initiatives, particularly those involving technology, data analytics, or operational excellence in payments and fixed assets.
    • Familiarity with Agile product development and digital transformation frameworks is a plus.
  • Skills:
    • Project Management: Excellent project management skills with the ability to lead multiple, complex projects, manage dependencies, and drive timely resolution of issues.
    • Strategic Thinking: Demonstrated ability to think strategically, influence the strategic agenda, and translate complex data and findings into actionable insights.
    • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of identifying risks and implementing mitigating actions.
    • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills with the proven ability to translate data into meaningful information and actions.
    • Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional skills in stakeholder management, communication (verbal and written), and the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams.
    • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in core banking systems, payment platforms, fixed asset management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel, PowerPoint & Copilot).
    • Regulatory Knowledge: Good understanding of regional operational procedures and regulatory requirements in Taiwan, including IFRS 16 and tax regulations related to fixed assets.
    • Initiative & Adaptability: Demonstrated ability to work independently, show initiative, and adapt to a fast-paced, continually changing environment.
    • Language: Fluency in English and Mandarin is highly desirable for effective communication with local and international stakeholders.
