RMG-Operational Risk works closely with business units and support units to manage the bank's risk exposure by balancing its objective to maximise returns against an acceptable risk profile. Responsibilities
- Implement firm-wide operational risk management strategies, policies, and frameworks to identify, assess, monitor, and mitigate operational risks across the organization
- Oversee the execution of operational risk management activities, including risk assessments, control testing, and incident management
- Collaborate with business units and support functions to ensure consistent application of operational risk management practices
- Provide subject matter expertise and guidance to senior management on operational risk issues and their potential impact on the bank's strategic objectives
- Establish and maintain effective reporting and escalation mechanisms to ensure timely communication of operational risk information to key stakeholders
- Continuously monitor the evolving operational risk landscape and recommend appropriate risk mitigation strategies
- Promote a strong risk culture and awareness across the organization
Requirements
- Extensive experience in operational risk management, preferably in a large, complex financial institution
- Proven track record of developing and implementing effective operational risk management frameworks and strategies
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address complex operational risk issues
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively present and explain operational risk concepts to senior management
- Thorough understanding of regulatory requirements and industry best practices related to operational risk management
