BLEND is scouting for a contracted zhTW linguist for a client to support their localization need:
Workload:
- Estimated 10-20 working hours/week to support ongoing and upcoming projects.
- 6 months contract with a fixed hourly rate starting soon
Requirements:
- Native proficiency in Traditional Chinese Taiwan and fluency in English.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience working with in-house content team, product team, or at translation agencies.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent education in a relevant field.
- Strong time management and prioritization skills as you'll be handling multiple projects at the same time.
- Comfortable with remote working arrangements, confident of collaborating easily with team members and stakeholders across different countries.
- Ability to work independently, anticipate problems and suggest solutions.
- Experience using localisation, design, and remote collaboration tools such as Phrase, Figma and Google suite.
Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of the localisation, editing, proofreading, and transcreation of product content from English into Traditional Chinese for the Taiwan market.
- Apply strong UX writing principles and user insights to deliver the best possible localised experience across the client's products.
- Collaborate closely with content designers, product designers, researchers, product managers, business stakeholders, and engineers on day-to-day localisation work.
- Review localised content and identify, document, and report localisation issues as needed.
- Take responsibility for and manage the day-to-day delivery of new assigned Traditional Chinese localisation projects.
- Create and maintain Traditional Chinese content style guide and glossary to ensure content quality and for the benefit of other content creators and translators.
- Conduct desk checks of Traditional Chinese localised content, whenever necessary, during the engineering development phase.
- Monitor, report and provide solutions for translation bugs
- Train and supervise external language vendors to ensure that localised content is culturally appropriate, fully compliant and aligned with our brand's voice and tone
- Review localised work done by the external teams or vendors and provide constructive feedback to improve the quality of content where needed
