This role plays a critical part in shaping the next-generation thermal design strategy for high-performance server platforms, and will be a key driver in system-level feasibility studies and architecture definition.
You will drive thermal architecture from the concept phase, working closely with EE, ME, BIOS, BMC, and power architects to deliver robust, cost-effective, and scalable thermal architecture solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Define system-level thermal architecture for high-power server platforms (e.g., GPU servers, liquid cooling, MGX)
- Ensure compliance with Intel and AMD thermal requirements for enterprise-grade platforms
- Conduct feasibility studies and trade-off analyses for various thermal solutions
- Collaborate with teams to define thermal requirements during concept and RFQ stages
- Interface with suppliers and customers to drive early technical alignment and innovation
- Participate in technical engagement with global customers, helping evangelize Jabil's capabilities
- Contribute to Architecture Decks, NUDDs, PRD input, and building block definition
- Evaluate air/liquid cooling technologies and industry trends to build roadmap strategies
- Evaluate and compare thermal technologies including heat pipe, vapor chamber, cold plate, and high-flow liquid cooling.
- Monitor and incorporate industry trends and thermal guidelines including DC-MHS and ORV3
Technical Skills
- Hands-on experience in Thermal architecture and implementation
- Familiar with CFD tools (e.g., Icepak, FloTHERM)
- Proven experience delivering thermal design in concept or early stages
- Ability to propose innovative ideas and trade-offs based on system constraints
- Familiarity with MGX, ORV3, DC-MHS, and hyperscaler thermal specs is a plus
- Experience in networking thermal architecture (e.g., 800G/400G/200G switch) will be considered a plus.
