Position Overview

This position assumes the overall accountability for Taiwan's supply chain. This includes the organization, the assets, the systems, the processes, and the deliverables.

The role reports administratively to the Managing Director in Taiwan, and is an integral part of the Country Leadership Team. Active contribution is expected, and active collaboration with the Country Leadership Team is imperative.

The role reports will also actively collaborate with the Supply Chain Centre of Excellence and with Supply Chain leaders in other countries is assumed.

The role oversees the full supply chain organization in Taiwan. This includes the supply chain staff, contractors, and third party providers.

Key Responsibilities

  • The role has overall end-to-end accountability for Taiwan's Supply Chain operations, covering both strategic leadership and operational execution across the following functions:

  • Quality, Health, Safety & Environment (QHSE)
  • Regulatory Affairs and compliance with local and international requirements
  • Procurement and supplier management
  • Demand and supply planning
  • Inbound logistics and materials management
  • Quality management and assurance
  • Manufacturing and production operations
  • Warehousing and inventory management
  • Outbound transportation and distribution
  • Customer service and order fulfillment

  • All supply chain functions fall under the accountability of the Supply Manager, irrespective of whether activities are performed in-house or outsourced to third-party providers. The role is responsible for continuously evaluating, designing, and optimizing the make-versus-buy and insource-versus-outsource strategy to ensure the most effective balance of cost, service, quality, risk, and scalability.

  • The role is accountable for defining, monitoring, and delivering against key performance indicators (KPIs). While KPIs may evolve over time, they are primarily grouped into the following areas:
  • Safety and compliance
  • Cost efficiency and productivity
  • Inventory optimization and working capital
  • Operational excellence, transformation, and strategic projects

  • To consistently achieve and exceed these KPIs, the role is responsible for driving supply chain strategy and continuous improvement across Strategy, Organization, Change, Processes, and Systems in collaboration with the Regional Director, SEA, APAC Supply Chain Director, and Supply Chain Centre of Excellence colleagues.

Position Requirements & Key Abilities

The most important requirements are a solutions oriented mindset and a strong desire to deliver results. Leadership skills in all four directions are important too, as is the ability to balance principal and customer expectations with organizational capabilities. In addition to this, the right candidate probably recognizes him or herself in this profile:

  • Bachelor's Degree in supply chain, business, engineering, or equivalent
  • 8-12 years in core supply chain functions (planning, logistics, procurement, manufacturing support).
  • Leadership experience in most of the supply chain functions listed above

  • Change management experience
  • Customer or supplier management experience
  • Distribution experience
  • Chemicals or ingredients supply chain experience
