About Your Next Opportunity
HTC is seeking a Strategic Investment Specialist to join our growing team. In this role, you will manage our investment portfolios, including private and public assets, across various sectors and markets. You will work closely with tier 1 finance partners globally, gaining exposure to top-tier investments and strategies. We are looking for someone with a passion for investments and markets, eager to make an impact in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Additional job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Conducting market research and providing financial insights for prospective investment opportunities.
- Articulating opportunities to the management team, clearly framing the technology, range of outcomes, risks, and investment recommendations.
- Monitoring investment performance, conducting valuation analysis, and actively managing the existing portfolio.
- Managing the diligence process by focusing on key drivers, investment criteria, and deal structuring.
- Ensuring investment decisions comply with laws, regulations, and company policy.
- Taking responsibility for post-investment management, minimizing investment risk, creating value post-investment, helping implement exit strategies, and maximizing return on investment.
Basic Qualifications / What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of practical experience; no restriction on academic or industry background we welcome candidates from non-traditional fields such as history, philosophy, literature, social sciences, engineering, or design. What matters most is a genuine, long-term passion for investing, business, and financial markets.
- Investment Mindset & Critical Thinking
- Strong curiosity about capital markets, startups, business models, and industry evolution.
- Ability to form independent investment perspectives from incomplete or ambiguous information.
- Comfortable making decisions under uncertainty and articulating clear, reasoned viewpoints.
- AI & Tool Fluency (Highly Preferred)
- Fluent in using AI tools and large language models (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) in daily work.
- Uses AI as a force multiplier for research, synthesis, analysis, modeling, writing, or workflow automation.
- Thoughtful about how humans and AI can collaborate to improve judgment and decision-making not just prompt usage.
- Execution & Ownership
- Self-starter with the ability to operate effectively without detailed instructions.
- Proven ability to manage multiple parallel projects, prioritize effectively, and deliver results.
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability for outcomes, not just tasks.
- Communication & Collaboration
- Strong interpersonal skills; able to work seamlessly with diverse stakeholders (investors, founders, legal, finance, engineers).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Learning Velocity & Growth Mindset
- Fast learner with intellectual humility and curiosity.
- Willing to take on responsibilities beyond a formal job description.
