  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of experience working in consumer electronics system design.
  • Experience in one of the following domains, such as architecture, power/battery/Soc, interfaces, or analog/camera/display engineering.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience leading teams or mentoring in JDM/Original Design Manufacturing (ODM) models.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to travel 10% of the time domestically or internationally.

System Engineering drives holistic product hardware design and integration in response to product definition coordinating closely with cross-functional stakeholders while meeting schedule, cost, feature, quality and performance requirements.

In this role, your expertise in electrical design will be paired with the accountability for a product's journey from initial concept to full-scale mass production. You will operate within the Joint Design Manufacturing (JDM) model, you will take on expanded responsibilities, including leading concept proposals and evaluating product definitions. You will also be responsible for crafting the Engineering Requirement Specification (ERS), a critical document that defines high-quality benchmarks, stringent performance standards, and the overall criteria for the product's commercial success.The Google Home team focuses on hardware, software and services offerings for the home, ranging from thermostats to smart displays. The Home team researches, designs, and develops new technologies and hardware to make users homes more helpful. Responsibilities

  • Resolve and mediate conflicts, risks, priorities and tradeoffs, helping the core team coordinate next steps, build consensus, and land in solution space.
  • Ensure hardware specification deliverables are met at each design phase.
  • Lead new design concept, features through exploration, prototyping, implementation to mass production.
  • Partner with Product Design (PD)/Engineering Program Management (EPM)/Cross-Functional (XFN) leads to assessing the technical feasibility of the system integration and program schedule.
  • Communicate technical across system level issues.
