Overview

Synaptics is looking for a Sr. Software Engineer who is familiar with windows driver, to join our dynamic and growing organization. This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a global team working to create revolutionary products. In this role, you will be working in the Core Software team responsible for Windows driver design and development to productize fingerprint and Touchpad solutions. This position reports to the Manager, Software Engineering.

Responsibilities & Competencies

Job Duties

  • Develop and design Windows drivers to productize the latest generation of Synaptics device
  • Software development in windows environment, and work for UMDF device driver development
  • Analyze, debug, and determine root cause of any bugs/issues identified to ensure our product release with the highest quality
  • Work closely with windows/Linux systems, chip/module development, and QA teams for WHQL qualification, feature development and in optimizing the performance of FPS chips

  • Understanding of software system architecture
  • Strong C/C++ programming skills
  • Proactive, self-starter, able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Well organized with strong attention to detail; proactively ensures work is accurate
  • Positive attitude and work ethic; unafraid to ask questions and explore new ideas
  • Good design, programming, and problem-solving skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, in English
  • Strong team player with the ability to work collaboratively within a diverse cross-functional team

Qualifications (Requirements)

  • Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) in Computer Science / Engineering or related field or equivalent
  • 5+ years experience in software development
  • Experience on device driver development in Windows
  • Expertise with systems analysis, profiling, and low-level debugging
  • Hands on experience integrating software and windows system
  • No travel required
