Overview

Synaptics is seeking a Sr. Procurement Specialist to join our dynamic and expanding team. In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing and negotiating with suppliers, managing procurement processes, managing the cost system and ensuring timely acquisition of goods and services to support company operations. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to optimize procurement strategies and ensure cost-effective purchasing. This position reports to the Manager, Procurement.

Responsibilities & Competencies

Job Duties

  • Analyze and evaluate supplier proposals and negotiate contracts to secure favorable terms and pricing
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure timely and cost-effective sourcing
  • Manage procurement processes, including purchase orders, vendor relationships, and supplier performance assessments
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their procurement needs and ensure compliance with company policies
  • Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills
  • Strong understanding of electronics components, industry standards, market trends, and supplier landscape specific to PC hardware
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of Oracle system and manage the cost updates
  • Proactive self-starter; able to anticipate changes in capacity and adjust plans quickly
  • Well organized with strong attention to detail; able to balance multiple priorities
  • Excellent verbal, and written communication skills; able to work collaboratively across diverse teams

Qualifications (Requirements)

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Electronics Engineering, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent; professional certification (e.g., CPM, CPSM) is a plus
  • 5+ years of procurement experience in electronics, particularly in PC components such as semiconductors, memory modules, motherboards, and peripheral devices
  • Proven track record in negotiating with suppliers, managing vendor relationships, and securing cost-effective deals
  • Demonstrated history of analyzing market data, forecasting trends, and making strategic purchasing decisions
  • Proficiency with procurement and supply chain management software, ERP systems (like Oracle), Excel, and project management tools
  • Experience collaborating with engineering and manufacturing teams
  • Travel up to 20% required
