Description
Ring is seeking a Senior Hardware Development Engineer to join our global electrical engineering team, driving product excellence across our ecosystem. This role requires deep technical expertise in system-level hardware design and the ability to lead complex engineering initiatives from concept to production.
As a technical leader, you will drive system-level design for SoC platforms while architect memory subsystems, sensor integration, and power management solutions. Your expertise will be critical in hardware system integration with advanced technologies including radar systems, camera modules, and wireless communications spanning WLAN and WWAN solutions. You will own and ensure robust signal integrity and comprehensive ESD protection across all designs.
In this senior role, you will serve as the technical design owner for critical hardware components and subsystems, conducting comprehensive root cause analysis for complex hardware issues and implementing innovative solutions that drive continuous improvement. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including firmware, software, and manufacturing engineering to ensure seamless product development from initial concept through high-volume production. Your responsibilities will include maintaining comprehensive technical documentation in Confluence page, managing project tracking through Jira, and driving quality initiatives that enhance both product reliability and manufacturing efficiency.
The candidate must demonstrate responsiveness and flexibility to succeed within our fast-paced environment, with the technical depth to dive deep into challenging problems while maintaining the strategic perspective necessary to guide complex hardware development programs to successful completion.
Key job responsibilities
- EE development from RFQ to MP
- Hands on for circuit design, study, build and verification
- Write or contribute to development of test specifications, criteria and procedures.
- Hands on to find root cause, and a solution or workaround for bugs
- Second source qualification, cost down task and manufacturing efficiencies
- Support new product introduction and Sustaining engineering
Basic Qualifications
- Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans and functional test procedures
- Knowledge of tools and measurement devices (oscilloscope, frequency analyzer, or equivalent)
- Experience with analog, digital, and high-speed circuit design
- Experience collaborating with the ECAD/physical board designer and able to review PCB designs with Allegro, CAM350, or equivalent
- 10+ plus years work experience, and at least 8+ years as an electrical designer
- Basic knowledge of FW operation, MCU structure, OTA, GPIO settings...etc.
- Experience in collaborating with CM
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent
- Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production
- Experience in system-level architecture and board-level design
- Experience in consumer products and have completed at least two product life cycles
- Experience in written and verbal communication skills to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership
- Experience identifying bugs in architecture, algorithms, functionality, and performance with strong overall debugging skills
- Experience working with emerging technologies
