Overview
Synaptics is looking for a Sr. Hardware Applications Engineer to join our dynamic and growing organization. The primary focus will be on reference board design, key customers hardware support, cooperate with internal verification/ASIC teams on the issue-shooting. This position reports to the Manager, Hardware Application Engineering.
Responsibilities & Competencies
Job Duties
- Responsible for Embedded SOC/ARM system related RDK hardware reference design
- Provide reference board design, customer hardware support and post-silicon verification of the company&aposs chip project
- Conduct customer design review, build verification plans and analyzing coverage, supporting software and hardware collaborative verification

Qualifications (Requirements)
- Bachelor&aposs (or advanced) degree in Microelectronics, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent
- 5+ years of experience in customer support/verification
- Solid experience with system/chip verification processes and highly proficient in board design tools, such as ORCAD, allegro, PADS (FPGA prototype verification/simulation verification a plus)
- Familiar with commonly used IPs, such as USB/PCIE/DDR/UART/SPI/I2C/SDIO/EMMC, etc
- Demonstrated experience independently handling customer support, building verification plans, completing IP subsys/SOC level verification, and performing function coverage analysis
- Programming experience in C/assemble language, and familiar with LabVIEW/Python scripting language a plus
- Familiarity with high-speed interface serdes/phy protocol is an advantage
- Minimal travel up to 10% may be required
