About the role:

Xperi / Vewd develops software technologies for Smart TVs and SetTop Boxes used by global brands such as Philips, Sony, Samsung, Amazon, and Vestel.

If you have used YouTube on a Philips TV, you have likely interacted with our technology.

We are hiring a SrEmbedded Software Engineer to join our Taipei team. This role focuses on product integration, debugging, and development for embedded Linux platforms. You will work closely with engineering teams in Taiwan, China, and Europe in an international, collaborative environment.

This is a hybrid role.

What you will get to do:

• Design, build and maintain efficient, reusable, portable, and reliable C++ code (25M+ LOC; majority in C++, but Java/JavaScript/Python is also there!)
• Support integration of Xperi / Vewd products on customer devices
• Debug and analyze issues across different hardware and software platforms
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and technical improvements
• Collaborate with global engineering teams and customer technical teams

Who we are looking for:

Must have:

• Familiar with modern C++ coding (11 or above)
• Good C++ skills and a firm understanding of object-oriented programming
• Familiar with web technologies (HTML/Java/Javascript)
• Experience in UNIX/Linux programming
• Knowledge of web standards
• Good working knowledge of English, written and spoken
• Good knowledge of Chinese
• *** You are already located in Taiwan and have a visa to stay ***

Nice to have:

• Experience in the development and debugging of embedded systems
• Experience in embedded Linux
• Experience in devtools or similar tool for issue analysis/debugging
