Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced engineering leader to drive specification development, technical engagement, and project success within the construction industry. This role is responsible for leading a team of Specification Engineers, strengthening relationships with key stakeholders, and translating engineering strategies into measurable commercial and project outcomes.
The successful candidate will combine strong technical expertise with leadership capability and a customer-focused mindset to support specification growth, engineering services, and strategic project development.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Specification Engineers to achieve high performance and continuous professional growth.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and technical excellence.
- Build technical competency and engineering expertise within the team.
- Motivate and support engineers in achieving individual and team objectives.
Engineering Strategy & Specification Development
- Translate national and regional engineering strategies into actionable plans that drive specification opportunities and project success.
- Develop and execute initiatives that increase engagement with consultants, designers, and engineering stakeholders.
- Ensure effective implementation of specification development and key project management initiatives.
- Monitor progress and drive continuous improvement to achieve strategic objectives.
Stakeholder & Project Management
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with consultants, design firms, contractors, EPC organizations, and key project stakeholders.
- Position the company as a trusted technical and engineering partner throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support key projects through technical consultation, engineering services, and specification management.
- Collaborate with commercial teams to maximize project opportunities and specification conversion success.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with sales, marketing, and engineering teams to align technical solutions with market needs.
- Support technical sales activities and contribute to business growth through engineering expertise.
- Facilitate knowledge sharing and best-practice implementation across functions.
Operational Excellence
- Ensure consistent execution of engineering processes, standards, and best practices.
- Track key performance indicators and project outcomes to deliver measurable business impact.
- Maintain high-quality engineering support and professional service delivery.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Preferred fields include:
- Civil Engineering
- Structural Engineering
- Construction Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Other relevant technical disciplines
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in an engineering-related role.
- Experience in technical sales, engineering consulting, engineering solutions, or specification management is highly desirable.
- Backgrounds from suppliers, EPC organizations, engineering consultancies, design firms, or construction contractors will be considered.
- Demonstrated experience supporting construction projects from design through execution phases.
Technical Competencies
- Strong understanding of design and construction processes.
- Proven experience working with engineering systems, construction products, or technical solutions.
- Experience engaging with consultants, designers, and project stakeholders on technical matters.
- Knowledge of specification development and project-based business environments.

- Previous leadership or people management experience is preferred.
