The Role
As a Software Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of Software engineers responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the core infrastructure and services that enable our applications to run efficiently and reliably. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams to deliver scalable and resilient platform solutions.
Your Responsibilities
Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead and mentor a team of platform engineers, providing guidance, coaching, and support to help them achieve their professional goals.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members.
Platform Architecture and Design:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define platform requirements and architectural standards.
- Design scalable, resilient, and cost-effective platform solutions that meet the needs of our applications and business objectives.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.
Infrastructure Automation and Tooling:
- Implement automation tools and practices to streamline infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and deployment processes.
- Continuously improve platform reliability and efficiency using monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions.
Operational Excellence:
- Establish and enforce operational best practices for managing and maintaining the platform infrastructure.
- Monitor platform performance and capacity metrics, proactively identifying and addressing potential issues or bottlenecks.
- Develop incident response procedures and participate in on-call rotations to ensure rapid resolution of platform-related incidents.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with the cloud ops team and product teams to understand their requirements and provide platform solutions that meet their needs.
- Collaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure that platform infrastructure meets regulatory requirements and security standards.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization, providing regular updates on platform initiatives and projects.
What You Bring to the Table
- Bachelor&aposs degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of experience leading and managing teams of engineers in a fast-paced, agile environment.
- Strong understanding some of .Net, Golang, Java, C++, Python, Node.js and so on.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to drive projects to completion and deliver results in a timely manner.
