Detailed Description
Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:
Product Development
- Lead feasibilty study in engineering team.
- Responsible for Technical proposal feasibility.
- Responsible to define phase BOM & BOM cost review, design for cost.
- Responsible for feasibility of PSD/SRD, NRE Quotation review and project schedule review.
- Hand over proposal to execution team after project kick off.
- Responible for Design/Phase Exit technical review.
Process And Design Quaility Enhancement
- Lead commonality activity in cross function team.
- Help project team to solve complex issues.
- Lead cross board review across vertical.
Relationship And Leadership
- Attend technical seminar with vendor.
- Attend industry event to get technical trend.
- Help vertical to do customer communication in technical area.
Competency Growth And Transformation
- Responsible for technical trend forecast and study.
- Reponsible for product competition analysis.
- Responsible for vendor roadmap analysis.
- Responsible for patent opportunity identify and apply.
Knowledge/Skills/Competencies
- Strong knowledge of system-level hardware design, including CPUs, memory subsystems, power delivery, and high-speed interfaces.
- Familiarity with EMC, safety standards, and board-level design constraints.
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills at system bring-up stage.
- Ability to review and assess design risks, and propose system-level solutions.
- Effective communication and leadership skills for cross-site collaboration.
Physical Demands
- Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
- Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
- Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
- Occasional travel may be required.
Typical Experience
- 58 years of hardware development experience, with proven track record in system-level design.
- Experience in networking or server hardware preferred.
- Prior experience leading projects and mentoring engineers in a global environment is an advantage.
Typical Education
Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
