Server UEFI Firmware Summer Intern
This internship provides hands‑on exposure to the Server UEFI Firmware domain through structured, entry‑level technical and operational support tasks. Interns will work closely with experienced engineers on well‑defined activities, gaining insight into firmware development workflows and how engineering teams operate in a professional environment.
This role is well‑suited for students with foundational technical knowledge who are keen to build practical experience in server firmware, systems architecture, and engineering operations.
Job Responsibilities
Under the guidance of the Server UEFI Firmware engineering team, the intern will:
- Assist with basic system operations and execute simple test procedures
- Collect, organize, and maintain platform logs, test results, and related technical data
- Update and manage internal documentation, records, and technical notes
- Support basic automation activities, including modifying or running Python‑based scripts
- Provide day‑to‑day operational support, such as preparing materials, organizing datasets, and assisting with routine team tasks
Required Qualifications
- Fundamental understanding of x86 architecture (CPU, memory, boot flow, etc.)
- Basic knowledge of UEFI/BIOS concepts through coursework or academic exposure
- Familiarity with Python or other scripting languages
- Detail‑oriented, responsible, and able to follow structured procedures accurately
- Availability to work full‑time for at least 2‑month summer internship period
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to simple automation scripting or technical tool usage
- Basic Linux command‑line knowledge
- Interest in AI‑assisted workflows or automation tools
- Coursework in computer architecture, operating systems, or embedded systems
