About the Role

We're looking for a Senior Backend Engineer who thrives on architecting robust, scalable backend systemsand is excited to push the boundaries of how modern software gets built. This isn't just about writing efficient APIs or bulletproof business logic. It's about changing the game with AI-enhanced development.

You'll work closely with frontend, product, and design teams to power critical features across our platform and miniapps. You'll also help redefine our backend workflow by embedding AI tools deeply into our stack10x'ing speed, reliability, and developer experience.

What You'll Do

• Build fast, reliable backend services and APIs powering Boxo's core products
• Collaborate with frontend, product, and design teams to prototype and launch new features
• Integrate seamlessly with third-party APIs, SDKs, and data providers
• Implement AI tools across the backend stack (e.g. Cursor, v0, Windsurf, Lovable) to supercharge speed and reduce manual work
• Actively reshape the engineering workflow to embed AI in:
• Code generation and scaffolding
• API and data model creation
• Internal tooling and admin systems
• Debugging, performance optimization, and documentation
• Build robust internal systems that dramatically cut down development time
• Drive initiatives to scale our backend architecture with automation and AI-first thinking

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of experience as a backend engineer in product-driven teams
• Deep expertise with Django (and Django REST Framework), Python, and modern backend architecture
• Excitement aboutand hands-on experience withAI development tools
• A mindset of shipping fast, iterating, and finding leverage through automation
• Strong understanding of API design, security, and scalable system architecture
• Experience optimizing for performance, reliability, and scalability
• Bonus: you've built internal tools, admin dashboards, or developer-facing APIs that other engineers love
• Bonus: experience working on high-load, international-scale platforms or developer infrastructure
