The role ensures alignment with local and international regulations, strengthens As Low As Reasonable Practical (ALARP) implementation, fosters organizational safety culture, and supports business growth and operational excellence.

The Senior Safety & Hygiene Engineering Manager is responsible for developing, implementing and governing the corporate Safety & Hygiene strategy across global engineering projects and manufacturing sites.
Responsibilities
Global Safety and Hygiene Strategy & Governance
- Develop corporate-level Safety & Hygiene strategies, mid-term plans and annual action roadmaps.
- Establish Safety & Hygiene standards, procedures and governance frameworks.
- Design and implement risk-based governance and audit structures across global engineering projects sites and manufacturing sites.
Risk Management & Compliance
- Lead risk mitigation strategies and ensure ALARP implementation across engineering projects and manufacturing sites.
- Ensure compliance with local regulatory and international Safety & Hygiene requirements.
- Monitor the effectiveness of control measures and drive continuous improvement.
Incident Investigation & Corrective Actions
- Lead major incident investigations and conduct root cause analysis (RCA).
- Oversee corrective and preventive actions to ensure effectiveness and deployment to relevant sites.
- Review incident statistics to identify trends and drive proactive improvement programs.
Performance, Reporting & Improvement
- Manage corporate Safety & Hygiene reporting, ensuring data accuracy and compliance.
- Develop and monitor KPIs and organizational performance metrics.
- Analyze data to propose strategic improvements and support executive decision-making.
Training & Cultural Development
- Define Safety & Hygiene training needs and build capability-development programs.
- Support global safety initiatives/programs to foster safety culture.
- Promote stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration.
Qualifications
Professional Background
- 10+ years of Safety & Hygiene experience, including EPC engineering project management.
- Strong leadership, communication and influencing skills.
- Experience developing Safety & Hygiene standards, procedures and manuals.
Competencies
- Strong business acumen and data-driven decision-making capability.
- Proactive, stakeholder-oriented mindset with strong engagement capability.
- Able to communicate effectively in global meetings and cross-functional collaboration and capable of reading, writing and responding to documents, reports and emails in English.
- Ability to work effectively across functions and global teams.
Education & Certifications
- Master's degree in Safety, Health, Environment or related field.
- Class A Safety/Hygiene or Environmental certification.
- ISO 45001 / ISO 14001 Lead Auditor qualification preferred.
- NEBOSH, CIH, CSP or other international certifications are a strong plus.
