Job Description

GMI Cloud is seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer with expertise in network architecture design and network equipment configuration.

About the Role

Responsibilities include designing, building, and managing IDC network infrastructure to ensure high availability, security, and performance. This position requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams to resolve complex network issues and lead the adoption and deployment of new networking technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Proficient in network architecture and design.
  • Familiar with routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancing, with hands-on configuration experience.
  • Solid understanding of fundamental networking concepts, including HTTP/HTTPS, TCP/IP, DNS, NTP, etc.
  • Knowledge of Software-Defined Networking (SDN).
  • Proficient in scripting and programming languages such as Shell script and Bash.
  • Able to work independently and willing to travel as required.
  • Candidates with experience in NVIDIA and Cumulus Linux systems will be given priority.
  • Responsible for testing, deployment, and maintenance of other security devices (e.g., IPS, WAF, DDI).
  • Familiar with log and monitoring tools such as ELK, Prometheus, and Grafana.
  • Strong understanding of firewall rule review and network architecture planning.

Qualifications

  • Possess over 8 years of experience as a senior engineer, specializing in enterprise network architecture design and maintenance, successfully leading teams to complete multiple multinational network deployment projects.
  • Design and implement high-performance, high-availability enterprise network solutions (e.g., LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, VPN, Wireless).
  • Manage and maintain core switches, routers, firewalls, load balancers, and other network equipment (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Arista, Fortinet).
  • Analyze and troubleshoot network bottlenecks, connectivity issues, and packet loss problems.
  • Lead the implementation of network security strategies, including ACLs, NAC, IDS/IPS, firewall rules, and Zero Trust architecture.
  • Monitor network traffic and optimize performance; write and maintain automation scripts (e.g., using Python, Ansible).
  • Document and maintain network topology diagrams and system documentation to ensure knowledge transfer and compliance.
  • Evaluate and adopt new technologies (e.g., IPv6, SDN, Cloud Networking, BGP EVPN).
  • Assist in major incident investigations (P1 Incidents), root cause analysis (RCA), and post-mortem improvements.

Preferred Skills

  • Possession of professional certifications such as CCNP/CCIE, JNCIP/JNCIE, or equivalent is a plus.
  • Familiarity with cloud network architectures (e.g., AWS VPC, Azure Virtual Network, GCP).
  • Experience in large-scale data centers, ISPs, or cloud service provider environments.
  • Knowledge of high-performance data networking using Mellanox / NVIDIA is a plus (especially in HPC or AI environments).
