About the Role

To provide strategic and end-to-end leadership in the development and management of assigned general insurance products, ensuring alignment with business growth ambitions and market competitiveness. This role is accountable for driving the full product lifecycle, including product design, reinsurance structuring, and operational workflow development, with a strong focus on delivering scalable, efficient, and customer-centric solutions. The Strategic Product Owner operates with confidence and ambition to shape innovative offerings that meet evolving customer needs while maintaining sound technical and financial discipline.
The role requires close collaboration with regulatory authorities and internal governance functions to ensure all products comply with applicable standards, as well as effective engagement with cross-functional stakeholders across underwriting, distribution, marketing, claims, finance, and technology to deliver successful product implementations. With strong project management capabilities, the Product Owner leads complex initiatives with discipline and agility, ensuring timely execution and high-quality outcomes. The role plays a critical part in supporting sustainable corporate growth and strengthening the organisation's market position.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and revamp of emerging General Insurance products, with a strong focus on financial lines (e.g. D&O, PI, Cyber, FI risks).
• Conduct market analysis, industry trend and competitor review to identify product opportunities and enhance competitiveness.
• Design and implement product features, pricing frameworks, and underwriting guidelines, ensuring alignment with business strategy and risk appetite. Ensure profitability and sustainability.
• Establish and manage reinsurance arrangements, including both treaty and facultative placements for large or complex risks.
• Develop and implement end‑to‑end operational workflows on new products with clear SOPs and service standards.
• Ensure all products comply with regulatory requirements and internal governance standards.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in insurance or business administration field.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in product development, underwriting or project management, including at least 5 years in management roles.
• Proven track record in driving new product design and operational workflow, preferably financial-line products.
• Fulfilment of the fit and proper criteria of the Insurance Authority for licensing as an individual insurance agent of the Company, and the minimum education and qualifications requirements, including but not limited to passes in IIQE Paper 1 & 2
• Holder of IIQAS / ACII / ANZIIF designations or other related professional/insurance status is preferred
• Strong leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills.
• Fluency in English and Chinese.
