About the Role
The Senior Manager, Cloud & Data Platform Architecture is responsible for leading the design, governance, and optimization of cloud and data platforms that support Group Applications. This role ensures platform scalability, performance, and cost-effectiveness while aligning with business needs and enterprise technology strategy.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Accountable for the design, health, and cost optimization of data and cloud infrastructure supporting Group Applications.
- Partner with IT leaders to develop a forward-looking roadmap for Group Applications cloud infrastructure.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to design and optimize platform needs and develop pricing models to support business case creation and project onboarding.
- Develop and promote reusable architecture patterns that reduce total cost of ownership (TCO) and accelerate time-to-market.
- Lead the design of enterprise data models and govern development activities to ensure consistency, quality, and compliance.
- Monitor the performance and cost of data platforms, taking proactive actions to minimize production impact in partnership with BAU teams.
- Manage platform vendor relationships to influence product roadmaps, resolve incidents, and ensure service quality.
- Review and approve all major platform changes to ensure alignment with architectural strategy and roadmap.
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in enterprise architecture, cloud infrastructure, or data platform roles.
- At least 3-5 years in a senior or managerial capacity, with demonstrated leadership in platform design and governance.
- Proven experience in managing large-scale cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure) and enterprise data platforms.
- Strong background in designing reusable architecture patterns and optimizing platform performance and cost
- Deep understanding of cloud-native architecture, infrastructure-as-code, and platform-as-a-service models.
- Proficiency in data modeling, integration frameworks, and performance tuning.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring tools.
- Knowledge of platform cost models, pricing structures, and financial planning for infrastructure.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior business and IT leaders.
- Experience in vendor management, including contract negotiation, roadmap influence, and incident resolution.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
- Demonstrated ability to align platform architecture with business goals and transformation initiatives.
