The Job
1) Regulatory Reporting and Advisory
Develop and implement processes and procedures to ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements.
Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure meeting all regulatory reporting requirements.
Provide advice and assistance to internal stakeholders in compliance with the relevant regulatory requirements.
Analyze and advise on the legal impact of new or changes in existing legislation, rules, regulations, guidelines concerning the businesses and operations of the Company.
Review and update existing internal policies and procedures, manuals and guidelines in view of the changing legal environment to the extent that the businesses and operation of the Company are concerned.
2) General Commercial
Provide corporate advisory and general commercial and legal advice to business units and departments on corporate projects, new business initiatives and development of the Company and the Group.
Working with external lawyers in relation to transactions and a wide range of legal issues. Monitor quality of legal services provided by external lawyers.
Draft and review commercial contracts.
3) Ad Hoc Tasks
Handle any other legal-related responsibilities assigned by the General Counsel from time to time.
The Person
Qualified Hong Kong lawyer with 5-7 years post qualification
Experience in and from life insurance companies or financial services industry or corporate and commercial department in law firms is highly preferred.
Familiar with Insurance Ordinance, Companies Ordinance, Securities and Futures Ordinance, and Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance.
Meet functional targets
Fluent in written and spoken English & Chinese (Putonghua optional).
Strong analytical and legal research skills.
Good interpersonal, presentation and communication skills.
Able to work independently and as a team player.
