Objective
We are seeking a high-impact Senior Key Account Manager to drive revenue growth and strategic penetration within the Hard Disk Drive (HDD) supply chain.
This is a strategic leadership position requiring a deep understanding of HDD architecture and a verifiable, established C-Suite and Engineering network across major HDD OEMs (e.g., Seagate, Western Digital) and their Tier 1 sub-suppliers.
The ideal candidate will leverage their existing relationships to shorten sales cycles, identify unpenetrated product lines, and secure long-term supply agreements for our critical components.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Account Leadership
- Manage and expand a portfolio of key HDD accounts, acting as the primary executive sponsor for client relationships.
- Develop and execute strategic account plans to increase share of wallet across multiple product lines and manufacturing sites.
- Identify new business opportunities by mapping client product roadmaps to our manufacturing capabilities.
Business Development & Networking
- Leverage existing relationships with Engineering, Procurement, and Operations stakeholders to gain early access to RFQs and design-in opportunities.
- Monitor competitive landscapes and market intelligence to anticipate supply chain shifts and position our value proposition accordingly.
Commercial & Contract Management
- Lead complex, high-stakes contract negotiations (pricing, volume, lead times, liability) to ensure profitability and alignment with capacity planning.
- Manage forecasting accuracy and collaborate with internal operations to ensure supply meets demand for key accounts.
- Escalate and resolve critical supply chain or quality issues with speed, acting as the bridge between internal engineering teams and client manufacturing.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Product Development to translate client technical requirements into internal specifications.
- Partner with Marketing to develop targeted campaigns and trade show strategies specific to the storage industry.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of progressive sales or account management experience in the semiconductor, electronics components, or precision manufacturing industries.
- Proven track record of successful sales within the Hard Disk Drive (HDD) supply chain.
- Candidates with a current, active network of decision-makers (Engineering/Procurement) at Seagate and Western Digital will be highly preferred.
- Deep understanding of HDD manufacturing processes, component specifications, and supply chain logistics.
- Proven ability to manage complex negotiations involving multi-year agreements and substantial volume commitments.
- Strong financial acumen with the ability to calculate TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) and ROI for clients.
- Excellent presentation skills, capable of engaging both technical engineers and C-suite executives.
- Willingness to travel up to [30-50%] to client sites and manufacturing plants globally.
