Job Description:
The main responsibilities for this position include:
- Portfolio management of the HK & HNW General Accounts
- Management of external asset managers (including affiliated AMs)
- Overall investment governance and compliance
- Business support including products, Investment Plan
- Ad-hoc special projects, including investment initiatives, M&A, systems etc
Portfolio Management (BAU and initiatives)
- Optimise risk adjusted returns within risk limits and capital requirements
- Propose tactical asset allocation strategies and implement
- Manage cash allocation and trade plans allocate assets according to PPP requirements
- Work with ALM on strategic asset allocation strategy development
- Search, propose and implement new asset classes
- Understand IFRS 17 for HK & HNW and RBC impacts for HK
External Manager Management (including affiliated asset managers)
- Monitor and manage external managers performance, controls and compliance
- Communicate with external managers as relationship manager
Business Support
- Propose investment assumptions for new product development
- Review Investment Plan
- Manage and track net income targets
Investment Governance and Compliance
- Work with stakeholders to design and implement sound controls in the investment processes
- Ensure investment compliance to risk limits, Investment Order, investment policies and guidelines
- Manage regulatory, audit and review processes
Management Accountabilities
- Coach more junior members, including Portfolio Management and HK & HNW Investment Team
- Supervise and review work produce by junior members

- Abilities on strategic and tactical investment strategies with considerations of asset/liability management, risk management, and requirements of regulations, tax, liquidity and capital management

Education and experience
- Minimum bachelors degree in business, economics and finance
- Chartered Financial Analyst or equivalent experience
- 8+ years of experience, including at least 4 years of actual investment experience
- Previous experience on interacting with asset class managers, the Business Group liability teams, and corporate functions such as legal, tax, accounting and regulatory would be a plus
- Exposure to international capital markets (esp. US, HK and China markets) and different asset classes (i.e. equities, public bonds, private debts, mortgages, real estate, and derivatives)
