The Team and Role:

As a Senior CMF Designer based in our Hsinchu, Taiwan office, you are an experienced and knowledgeable specialist focused on the successful execution of New Product Introduction (NPI) projects. You will provide expert input and recommendations to design best practices at the project level, with an emphasis on working independently to resolve challenging and complex CMF issues.

In this role, you will apply a broad variety of design concepts and procedures to bring products to market. You will demonstrate good judgment in selecting the best methods for developing solutions, ensuring that every product meets high standards for quality and manufacturability.

  • Independent Execution: Work independently on a wide range of projects within the CMF discipline, taking ownership of the design from concept through to successful market delivery.
  • NPI Specialist: Apply working knowledge of design best practices to resolve a wide range of creative and technical issues during the product development lifecycle.
  • Process & Standards: Set and meet reasonable commitments and deadlines while maintaining high standards for the team and the final product.
  • Collaborative Problem Solving: Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, communicating proactively and effectively with key stakeholders to ensure CMF intent is maintained in production.

Key Qualifications:

For consideration, you must bring the following minimum skills and experiences to our team:

  • CMF Experience: 5+ years of experience in CMF design, with a focus on NPI and a proven ability to deliver consumer products to market.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and finishes, with the ability to provide clear recommendations at the project level.
  • Project Leadership: Ability to act as a leader on multiple projects of moderate complexity, managing goals and schedules effectively.
  • Creative Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to resolve complex design and manufacturing issues in creative ways.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate technical CMF requirements to both design and engineering stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in Industrial Design, Material Science, or a related field.
  • Experience working with manufacturing partners in the Taiwan/Greater China region to troubleshoot production issues.
  • A portfolio showcasing a wide range of projects where you independently managed the CMF process from start to finish.
  • Experience with 3D rendering and CMF documentation tools (e.g., Keyshot, Adobe Suite) to communicate specifications to vendors.
