An exciting role is available for a Senior Buyer to join Winbro Group Technologies Supply Chain Management team. The Senior Buyer will be responsible for all Asia Pacific region sourcing and purchasing activity for commodities related to parts manufacture, special purpose machine tools and associated equipment.
Experience of leading projects in a purchasing environment is essential.
Responding to demand originating principally in Winbro's UK and US customer facing businesses, the Senior Buyer will be responsible for the sourcing of make to print parts and sub-assemblies as well as commercially available electrical and mechanical components.
This position is based in Taiwan, must live and be authorized to work in Taiwan.
Requirements
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Sourcing of make to print parts and sub-assemblies including cast, machined and fabricated items.
- Sourcing of electrical and mechanical commercially available components.
- Sourcing in support of R&D and New Product Introduction (NPI) projects.
- Order placement in line with Winbro global system demand.
- Management of Asia Pacific supply chain including: - Supplier assessments. - Supplier performance review including production of KPI scorecards. - Supply chain risk assessment and management. - Supply chain cost reduction activity.
- Providing support to Winbro UK and US Purchasing teams as required.
Education / Experience
- Degree educated.
- Technical qualification in Manufacturing or Design Engineering (mechanical preferred).
- English language qualification
- Experience of leading supply chain sourcing activity.
- Experience of leading supply chain cost reduction projects.
- 5+ years experience working within a purchasing environment. Aerospace, automotive or similar would be advantageous.
- Experience of working with ERP systems - Ideally MS Dynamics 365
- Demonstrable record of success within an environment of continuous improvement.
- Experience operating in a fast-paced environment.
Skills / Aptitudes Required
- Fluent in Mandarin Chinese.
- Strong written and verbal English language skills.
- Excellent communication skills including report writing, formal presentation, formal and informal verbal.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and requirements.
- Detailed understanding of engineering drawings and specifications.
- Strong IT skills - ERP systems and MS Office, especially Excel.
- Ability to travel globally including Asia, Europe and US.
