School Development Officer II(s) / Assistant School Development Officer(s)

Applications are invited for the post of School Development Officer II(s) / Assistant School Development Officer(s) for the EduVenture Self-directed Learning Resources Programme, funded by the Quality Education Fund. This project aims to enhance students learning effectiveness and motivation in General Studies and Citizenship and Social Development by designing interactive inquiry-based e-resources with EduVenture.

Reporting to the Principal Investigator, the appointee(s) will be responsible for (a) developing EduVenture teaching packages for General Studies / Citizenship and Social Development, such as designing, drafting, customising e-resources (b) providing school-based support for participating schools, such as teacher and student training workshops, collaborative lesson planning sessions and on-site support in field trips (c) offering pedagogical advice and strategies on adopting EduVenture in the learning and teaching of General Studies / Citizenship and Social Development (d) liaising with participating schools and project stakeholders in designing and delivering project outputs (e) working closely with other functional teams and project stakeholders to develop project evaluation (f) managing the day-to-day operation of the project assuring its smooth functioning and efficient organisation and (g) performing other relevant work as prescribed by the Principal Investigator.

For School Development Officer II(s)

Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor's degree with at least 6 years relevant post-qualification teaching or related professional experience OR a Bachelor's degree plus a Postgraduate degree / Diploma / Certificate in Education, with at least 4 years relevant post-qualification teaching or related professional experience (preferably in General Studies / Citizenship and Social Development / Liberal Studies) (ii) comprehensive understanding of and substantial teaching experience in General Studies / Citizenship and Social Development / Liberal Studies (iii) experience in leading schools in developing school-based curriculum related to General Studies / Citizenship and Social Development / Liberal Studies and (iv) good liaison, organisational, interpersonal and computer skills.

For Assistant School Development Officer(s)

Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor's degree in Education OR a Bachelor's degree in relevant subjects, with a Postgraduate degree / Diploma / Certificate in Education (ii) familiarity with the content and pedagogy of General Studies / Citizenship and Social Development / Liberal Studies and (iii) good liaison, organisational, interpersonal and computer skills. Having relevant work experience with teaching in primary / secondary schools would be an advantage.

Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for up to 1 year commencing as soon as possible, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
