ROLE SUMMARY
We are looking for an RF Engineer to join our antenna design and validation team. This is a hands-on engineering role covering the full lifecycle of antenna product development, from matching network design and PCB-level RF debugging through to performance validation and measurement campaigns. You will work closely with our internal engineering team and engage directly with OEM customers on technical integration challenges, antenna characterisation, and product optimisation. This is a great opportunity for an RF engineer who wants broad exposure across antenna design, test, and customer-facing applications engineering.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Design and optimise antenna matching networks (Pi, L-network) using Smith chart analysis and VNA measurements
Perform antenna characterisation including return loss, VSWR, radiation efficiency, gain, and TRP/TIS measurements
Conduct PCB-level RF debugging and support antenna integration reviews for OEM customer designs
Participate in antenna design reviews and contribute to product development from concept through to mass production
Execute antenna chamber testing and measurement campaigns, and document results in detailed technical reports
Engage with OEM customers as a technical engineering resource, supporting antenna integration and resolving performance issues
Evaluate PCB stackups and CPW/microstrip transmission line designs for RF performance
Solder and assemble RF test boards, antenna prototypes, and evaluation samples
Assist with incoming quality inspection and supplier technical evaluations for antenna and RF components
Contribute to root cause analysis and corrective action for field and customer technical issues
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Solid understanding of antenna theory, matching network design, and RF fundamentals
Hands-on experience with RF test and measurement equipment (VNA, spectrum analyser, signal generator)
Proficiency in Smith chart analysis and impedance matching techniques
Experience with antenna test methods including return loss, VSWR, radiation pattern, and efficiency measurement
Ability to read, interpret, and review RF schematics and PCB layouts
Familiarity with PCB transmission line design (CPW, microstrip) and stackup considerations
Proficient soldering skills including SMD components and RF connectors (MHF, U.FL, SMA)
Strong technical documentation and reporting skills
Good written and spoken English for customer and partner technical engagement
PREFERRED / NICE TO HAVE
Experience with cellular antenna testing and validation (LTE, 5G NR, Cat-M, NB-IoT)
Familiarity with GNSS, BLE, Wi-Fi, or ISM band antenna products
Experience in an applications engineering or technical support role with OEM or module manufacturers
Knowledge of 3GPP standards or OTA test methodologies (CTIA, PTCRB)
Experience with LDS, FPC, or embedded antenna product types
Simulation experience with tools such as HFSS, CST, or similar
WHAT WE OFFER
Flexible working hours to support work-life balance
20 days of paid annual leave per year
Company performance bonus scheme
Monthly phone bill allowance covered by Synzen
Broad exposure to antenna design, test, and product development across multiple technology domains
