Job Description

Applicants should have (i) a PhD degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Life Science or a related discipline, with at least eight years of postdoctoral research experience (ii) a strong background in cellular and molecular biology techniques (e.g., cell culture, PCR, Western blot, flow cytometry, and gene expression analysis) (iii) advanced computer proficiency (including Microsoft applications, SPSS, and statistical or research software such as R, GraphPad Prism, or EndNote) (iv) substantial experience in clinical laboratory research, project coordination, and team management (v) excellent written and spoken communication skills in English and Chinese (including Cantonese and Putonghua) and (vi) strong self-motivation, leadership potential, and the ability to work independently. Prior experience in accredited laboratory settings or research in Gynaecological Oncology is highly preferred.

The appointee will work at the Prince of Wales Hospital in Shatin and provide support to the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Duties include (a) leading research projects, including study design, coordination, and execution (b) overseeing subject recruitment and clinical data collection (c) conducting advanced laboratory experiments and performing high-level data analysis (d) preparing research reports, manuscripts for publication, and grant proposals (e) supervising junior research staff and students (f) collecting and handling samples from locations outside the Prince of Wales Hospital and (g) performing other duties as assigned.

Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for one year commencing as soon as possible, renewable subject to mutual agreement.
