Job Description

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology is looking for a Research Associate, to set up and support high quality prospective clinical studies.

Applicants should have (i) a recognised Master%27s degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Life Science or a related discipline (ii) at least four years%27 post-qualification experience in clinical research (iii) an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese and Putonghua) (iv) strong interpersonal and communication skills to foster research collaboration and (v) a demonstrated commitment to excellence in research management.

The appointee will be responsible for (a) establishing and maintaining effective management systems for the studies (b) working closely with the Chief Investigator, research and IT staff to ensure the successful management of the studies (c) assisting in secure all necessary approvals for the studies and participating sites (d) coordinating the design, printing and distribution of study documentation (e) ensuring the study sites have appropriate training and maintain necessary records (f) working within budget constraints (g) ensuring good communication has been maintained between all research team members (h) monitoring the study sites to assess compliance with the protocol and regulatory requirements (i) undertaking risk assessment of the studies and, propose appropriate mitigations (j) writing minutes for study-related meetings and (k) performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Appointment will be made on contract basis for six months.
