Applicants should have (i) a Master%27s degree or above in Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Data Science, Social Science, or related disciplines with at least four years of relevant work experience (for Research Associate) or a Bachelor's degree or above in the abovementioned disciplines (for Research Assistant) (ii) competency in quantitative data analysis (iii) good organisational and communication skills (iv) a good command of both English and Chinese (v) strong initiative and team spirit at work and (vi) the ability to conduct statistical analysis (for quantitative data) or thematic analysis (for qualitative study). Candidates who have research experience in humanitarian medicine and/or health emergency and disaster risk management are preferred. Those with less experience will be considered for appointment as Research Assistant.
The appointee will be responsible for (a) conducting research activities independently, including systematic reviews, meta-analyses, data collection and analysis, report, policy brief, and manuscript writing (b) writing grant proposals (c) managing research projects and datasets and (d) performing other research and administrative duties as assigned. The appointee will work in the Collaborating Centre for Oxford University and CUHK for Disaster and Medical Humanitarian Response ().
Appointment will be made on contract basis for up to one year commencing as soon as possible, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.

The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) is a public research university in Shatin, Hong Kong, formally established in 1963 by a charter granted by the Legislative Council of Hong Kong. It is the territory's second-oldest university and was founded as a federation of three existing colleges – Chung Chi College, New Asia College and United College – the oldest of which was founded in 1949.
CUHK is organized into nine constituent colleges and eight academic faculties, and remains the only collegiate university in the territory. The university operates in both English and Chinese, although classes in most colleges are taught in English. Four Nobel laureates are associated with the university, and it is the only tertiary institution in Hong Kong with recipients of the Nobel Prize, Turing Award, Fields Medal and Veblen Prize sitting as faculty in residence.
