Job Description

The Gerald Choa Neuroscience Institute (GCNI) and The School of Biomedical Sciences (SBS) are seeking a motivated Research Assistant to join the research team of Prof. Yingjun Liu. The research team of Prof. Liu provides a supportive and stimulating research environment, with excellent mentorship on personal and career development. The focuses of the laboratory include (1) investigating the mechanisms of brain aging and neurodegenerative diseases (2) innovating therapeutic interventions against brain aging and neurodegenerative diseases and (3) developing advanced CRISPR and organotypic slice culture-based brain research technologies. ().

Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor's degree or above in relevant disciplines (ii) excellent communication and teamwork skills and (iii) proficiency in written and spoken English. Candidates with a good command of CRISPR technology, AAV engineering/production, mechanistic investigations using animal models, primary cell/tissue culturing, high-throughput in vivo/in vitro genetic/pharmacological screening, bulk/single-cell DNA/RNA sequencing are highly welcome to apply.

Duties include (a) carrying out scientific experiments (b) providing technical support (c) managing the laboratory's budget (d) assisting in project report and documentation and (e) performing other tasks as assigned by the supervisor or his delegate(s).
