Repair Engineer
(Sr. HW Lab Engineer - Android devices)
Responsibilities:
- Rework Android consumer electronics hardware (HW) and test devices (board and FATP level)
- In charge of Touch/motion/haptics/health sensors validation testing
- Modify test script and debug script execution issues.
- Create scripts for test protocols, data collection, device/equipment control and data processing.
- Partner with Google Employees on testing development, design of experiments, data collection, fixture design and use case study.
- Assist with test debug workflow and resolving test/fixture issues
- Using ADBcommands to capture bug reports
Qualifications:
- B.S. or above in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Material Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Hands-on Python programming
- Hands-on ADB commends is a plus
- Hands-on exp. w/ Electronics evaluation kit or consumer HW testing
- Hands-on exp. w/ Consumer HW assembly/teardown and PCB/EErework
- Hands-on conducting rework operations such as soldering, component replacements and circuit board modifications is a MUST.
- 3-7 yrs of related exp. w/ Android HW Testing or Rework
- Exp. handling components in an ESD-safe environment
- Exp. utilizing diagnostic tools such as multimeters and oscilloscopes to narrow down failing signature
- Ability to speak and write in Mandarin and English fluently and idiomatically.
Others:
- Bilingual capability is required (Mandarin & English).
Mandarin speaking/reading is essential skill in HCLTech Taiwan.
- Soft Skills: Good listener, sense of humor, open minded, respect, patience, resolving issues, etc.
- Exp. applying analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to predict challenges and seek to proactively head-off obstacles
- Can work independently (e.g. manage tasks to complete on time, etc.)

- Can adapt to fast-paced environment
- Working location: may adjust to Xindien per Google's request
- Taiwan APRC is required w/ expat.
