Project Co-ordinator IIThe Faculty of Science has over 4,000 students guided by more than 400 teaching and research staff, and has six major teaching units offering a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.Reporting to the Faculty Secretary, the appointee will provide support to the Faculty Office, including the areas of student affairs (such as career and professional development and student-led activities) and alumni affairs (such as alumni communication and events). The appointee will be responsible for (a) planning, organising, and executing events and campaigns for student and alumni affairs (b) liaising with internal and external parties to facilitate event and campaign execution (c) curate news items to be featured in a biannual alumni publication (d) providing administrative and secretarial support to student and alumni affairs and their relevant committees and meetings, and (e) performing other tasks as assigned. Working beyond normal office hours or during weekends will be required occasionally.Applicants should have (i) a good Bachelor's degree (ii) at least 2 years post-qualification relevant work experience, preferably in the tertiary education institutional setting (iii) a high level of proficiency in computer applications, such as Microsoft Office365 and Chinese word-processing (iv) an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese and Putonghua) (v) strong attentiveness to detail and organisational skills (vi) good interpersonal, problem-solving and multi-tasking skills, with a strong sense of responsibility, self-motivation and a drive to excel and (vii) the ability to work closely in a team as well as independently. The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) is a public research university in Shatin, Hong Kong, formally established in 1963 by a charter granted by the Legislative Council of Hong Kong. It is the territory's second-oldest university and was founded as a federation of three existing colleges – Chung Chi College, New Asia College and United College – the oldest of which was founded in 1949.
CUHK is organized into nine constituent colleges and eight academic faculties, and remains the only collegiate university in the territory. The university operates in both English and Chinese, although classes in most colleges are taught in English. Four Nobel laureates are associated with the university, and it is the only tertiary institution in Hong Kong with recipients of the Nobel Prize, Turing Award, Fields Medal and Veblen Prize sitting as faculty in residence.
