Project Co-ordinator II

Founded in 2007 and named after Dr. Chu Ching-wen (1906-1996), C.W. Chu College is a small residential college of The Chinese University of Hong Kong which has a student population of about 300. Through its general education programmes, mentorship schemes, service-learning programmes, exchange opportunities and many different cultural and social activities for students, the College aims to nurture graduates who embody the values that the late Dr. Chu exemplified, and which are encapsulated in the College motto Cultus et Beneficentia: leadership, service, intellectual clarity and ethical conduct. Being part of the team in supporting a fully residential college with communal dining, the appointee will be responsible for (a) managing hostel operations including handling hostel assignments guest room bookings as well as supervising the hostel team and maintenance work (b) working with the Warden and Resident Tutor Team to enforce hostel regulations, handling student disciplinary cases, and implementing hostel activities (c) organising the College's educational activities and providing support for events (d) managing financial matters and (e) supporting other areas of work and special projects as assigned. Working beyond normal office hours may be required depending on circumstances.

Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor's degree or above (ii) at least 3 years post-qualification relevant work experience, preferably in the tertiary education sector (iii) a meticulous mindset and good accuracy (iv) a strong sense of responsibility, with good problem-solving and organisational skills (v) a collaborative work style, with good communication and interpersonal skills (vi) a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua) and (vii) proficiency in computer applications, such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Chinese word-processing. Having experience in managing student affairs, organising events and activities, and knowledge of hostel management would be advantageous. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.

Appointment will initially be made on a 2-year contract with contract-end gratuity, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
