Project Co-ordinator II (carrying the job title of Social Media Executive)
The Communications and Public Relations Office (CPRO) at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) is dedicated to showcasing CUHK's excellence in education, research, and community impact. CPRO is seeking professionals to support digital engagement and storytelling, building affinity for CUHK among students, alumni, and prospective audiences across regions, with a focus on the Chinese Mainland market.The appointee will be responsible for (a) managing and optimising social media accounts with a primary focus on the Chinese Mainland platforms (e.g., WeChat, RedNote and Xiaoyuzhou ()), including organic content development and paid media execution and staying deeply immersed in Chinese Mainland trends, user behaviours, and platform algorithms (b) developing high-quality written content (posts, captions and scripts) and producing short-form video clips, with hands-on knowledge of video production workflows and creating or co-ordinating simple graphics/visuals to support content (c) collaborating with internal teams and external partners, supporting project co-ordination for digital initiatives, and ensuring timely delivery and high standards (d) monitoring performance using social media analytics tools, generating reports, and providing data-driven insights to optimise content and strategies and (e) undertaking any other projects or duties as assigned.

Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Creative Media, or a related field (ii) at least 3 years of post-qualification relevant experience, with proven hands-on experience managing social media accounts, particularly in Chinese Mainland (e.g., WeChat, RedNote and Xiaoyuzhou, etc.), covering both organic content and paid media (iii) exceptional writing skills in English and Chinese for creating engaging, culturally resonant content (iv) strong knowledge of video production (scripting, shooting basics, editing) (v) familiarity with social media analytics tools (e.g., platform built-in analytics) and reporting (vi) strong organisational and time management skills, with good project management abilities (vii) capability of working independently while contributing effectively as part of a team and (viii) passion for adapting to emerging formats and incorporating AI tools (e.g., for image/video generation or content ideation) where appropriate to enhance efficiency and creativity. Having the ability to navigate cultural nuances across different market contexts and experience with international platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube) would be an advantage. Shortlisted candidates will be required to sit for a written test in both English and Chinese.

Applicants must submit a portfolio containing 3 examples showcasing their social media content work and projects, together with copies of academic certificates, transcripts, and evidence of relevant work experience through the online application system, otherwise their applications will NOT be considered.

Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for up to 2 years (with contract-end gratuity for a 2-year contract) commencing as soon as possible, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
