As a Program Manager at Google, you'll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. The Cost Management group within the Global Operations organization is responsible for management related to manufacturing operations and materials supply chain across all hardware products. You will have an opportunity to shape how the team influences product teams to launch products, how we drive efficiencies across a global operations team, develop scalable processes, onboard new capabilities, and resolve issues gating productivity and business growth.
The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.
Responsibilities
- Act as the lead for all non-BOM related costs for assigned products, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting throughout the product lifecycle.
- Drive insights and recommendations by analyzing industry benchmarks and Operating Cost Of Goods Sold (OCOGS) line items to identify efficiency improvements and cost-reduction opportunities.
- Oversee the development and management of driver-level cost models from the initial concept and design stages through the entire product lifecycle.
- Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Finance, and Accounting to ensure compliance with financial requirements and identify operational cost-saving initiatives.
- Create and prototype dashboards to provide insights, delivering presentations of quantitative cost findings to leadership.
