Role Purpose
Lead the SDA product strategy and portfolio for Taiwan market, ensuring strong business performance and brand equity. Act as the local product owner for your categories, adapting central roadmaps to local needs, building winning ranges for all key channels, and driving launches and lifecycle performance.
You are responsible for the full P&L performance of your portfolio in the local market and for providing strong leadership to cross‑functional teams (Sales, Trade Marketing, Supply, Finance).
Key Responsibilities
1. Local Product & Portfolio Strategy
- Define and own the SDA product strategy for the local market in line with group guidelines and brand positioning.
- Build and maintain the local portfolio architecture: range segmentation, price ladders, good/better/best, differentiation by channel.
- Select and prioritize central products for local listing; brief central teams on local needs and gaps.
- Lead business cases for local initiatives (exclusive SKUs, special editions, pack/bundle offers).
2. Market & Consumer Insight
- Analyze local market panels (e.g. GfK/Nielsen), retailer data, and consumer research to identify opportunities, threats, and white spaces.
- Benchmark competitive offers (pricing, specs, promotions, online content) and feed insights to central product teams.
- Monitor consumer feedback (after‑sales, reviews, social listening) and translate learnings into clear action plans.
3. Product Launch & Go‑to‑Market Excellence
- Build and own local launch plans for SDA products: objectives, volumes, pricing, channels, calendar.
- Define local positioning, key selling arguments, and differentiation vs competitors for each launch.
- Coordinate with Trade Marketing and Sales on activation plans (in‑store, online, promotions, training).
- Ensure best‑in‑class product content for all key retailers and e‑commerce platforms (PDPs, imagery, videos, comparison tools, SEO keywords).
- Track launch KPIs (sell‑in, sell‑out, distribution, share, margin) and adjust plans rapidly where needed.
4. Pricing, P&L & Business Performance
- Set local RRP and trade conditions recommendations in line with positioning and margin targets.
- Monitor P&L of your portfolio: net sales, margin, mix, promo impact, stock levels and obsolescence risk.
- Propose and implement corrective actions (price moves, promo mechanics, mix steering, cost optimization, assortment rationalization).
- Support demand planning by providing robust volume forecasts and scenario planning.
5. Lifecycle & Assortment Management
- Manage product lifecycle locally: launch, ramp‑up, maturity, phase‑out, replacement.
- Optimize assortments by channel / key account (core range, exclusivities, online-only SKUs, bundles).
- Lead rationalization initiatives to reduce complexity while protecting revenue and margin.
- Manage delisting strategies and stock run‑out plans together with Supply Chain and Sales.
6. Cross‑Functional & Retailer Leadership
- Act as the local SDA product expert and single point of contact for Sales, Trade Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, Customer Service.
- Support Key Account Managers in customer meetings: category arguments, range recommendations, line reviews.
- Represent the local market with central Product Marketing / Category teams: share performance, needs, and competitive intelligence.
- Contribute to annual budget and strategic planning processes with robust product and category inputs.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Marketing, Business, Engineering or related field.
- 6–10 years experience in product management, category management or brand management in FMCG/consumer durables; SDA or household appliances experience strongly preferred.
- Proven track record in managing product portfolios and driving successful launches in a local market.
- Experience working with retailers (GMS, specialized, pure players) and market data (GfK, Nielsen, retailer panels).
Skills & Competencies
- Strong business acumen and P&L understanding.
- Excellent analytical skills: pricing, elasticity, promo analysis, category data, consumer insights.
- Solid project management skills; ability to manage multiple launches and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Strong communication and influencing skills, including towards senior stakeholders and key retailers.
- Very good command of Excel and PowerPoint; comfortable with data manipulation and scenario building.
- Fluent in Mandarin and English.
