The Jockey Club School of Public Health and Primary Care is seeking applications for a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to join the research team, to contribute to public health research focusing on bioethically-related issues including but not limited to end-of-life care research.
Applicants should have (i) a PhD degree in Public Health, Medical Sciences, Social Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Epidemiology, or a related discipline (ii) strong analytical (both quantitative and qualitative) and academic writing skills, with a proven publication track record (iii) proficiency in managing and analysing research databases (e.g., REDCap, SPSS, STATA, R, or other relevant platforms) (iv) the ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team (v) excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills and (vi) the ability to communicate proficiently in spoken Cantonese and English, and in written Chinese and English. Interests in bioethics, public health ethics, and other ethics-related topics will be an advantage. Familiarity with Hong Kong's healthcare system or similar primary care settings, as well as experience in quantitative research (particularly in survey design and implementation, data management, and advanced statistical analyses) and qualitative research (particularly in conducting interviews and analysing qualitative data) will also be an advantage.
The appointee will be responsible for (a) conducting independent and collaborative research (b) contributing to grant writing and preparation of research proposals (c) analysing quantitative and qualitative data (d) preparing manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals (e) supervising junior research staff, Research Assistants and students (f) managing and maintaining research databases and ensuring data quality and (g) performing other tasks as assigned by the research team.

The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) is a public research university in Shatin, Hong Kong, formally established in 1963 by a charter granted by the Legislative Council of Hong Kong.
