Job Description

Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Fellow position in a dynamic and collaborative research team dedicated to stem cell biology, regenerative medicine, and translational neuroscience.

Our laboratory focuses on uncovering molecular mechanisms regulating stem cell function and developing innovative regenerative strategies for neurological disorders. Ongoing projects integrate molecular and cell biology, biomimetic nanomaterials, and animal models of brain injury, with the goal of advancing translational applications in neural repair.

We offer a strong research platform, substantial academic independence, and an international research environment. Our team maintains a supportive, friendly, and highly motivating atmosphere, encouraging innovation, collaboration, and career development.

Applicants should have (i) a PhD degree in Biomedical Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, or a closely related discipline from a well-recognised institution (ii) strong background in molecular biology and/or cell biology (iii) demonstrated research productivity (e.g., peer-reviewed publications) and (iv) the ability to work independently with strong organisational and leadership skills. Prior experience in stem cell research, biomaterials, nanomedicine, or animal models of neurological diseases would be an advantage but is not required.

The appointee will be responsible for (a) leading and conducting research projects related to stem cell regulation and regenerative strategies (b) designing and executing experiments using multidisciplinary approaches (c) contributing to grant writing and project development and (d) mentoring graduate and undergraduate students.

Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for one year, renewable subject to satisfactory performance and mutual agreement.

Applicants should submit the following document in the online application: (1) a full curriculum vitae (including academic qualifications, research experience, publications, and contact information for referees) and (2) copies of academic certificates.

About Company

The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) is a public research university in Shatin, Hong Kong, formally established in 1963 by a charter granted by the Legislative Council of Hong Kong. It is the territory's second-oldest university and was founded as a federation of three existing colleges – Chung Chi College, New Asia College and United College – the oldest of which was founded in 1949.
CUHK is organized into nine constituent colleges and eight academic faculties, and remains the only collegiate university in the territory. The university operates in both English and Chinese, although classes in most colleges are taught in English. Four Nobel laureates are associated with the university, and it is the only tertiary institution in Hong Kong with recipients of the Nobel Prize, Turing Award, Fields Medal and Veblen Prize sitting as faculty in residence.
