Job Description

The Postdoctoral Fellow / Research Associate will report to the Principal Investigator (PI) of a university-school partnership programme funded by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust. The programme aims to enhance the learning and teaching of Chinese Language and Literature in schools through the use of Virtual Reality (VR) technologies.

Applicants should have (i) a Doctoral / PhD degree in Education, Learning Technology, Language Education, Educational Psychology, or Social Science (ii) strong statistical and analytical skills (iii) an excellent command of English and Chinese (iv) good interpersonal and communication skills (v) knowledge and skills of quantitative and qualitative data analysis software (vi) sound experience in conducting high-quality research and authoring/ co-authoring high-quality academic publications, (vii) strong initiative and teamwork spirit and (viii) self-motivation and the ability to work independently.

Duties include assisting and supporting the PI in (a) managing, coordinating, and implementing the research activities of the project (b) designing research plans and research methods (c) carrying out data collection, analyses, and developing research instruments (d) analysing qualitative and quantitative data (e) conducting field research in project schools and (f) presenting research findings in reports and academic publications.

Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for up to one year commencing as soon as possible, renewable subject to mutual agreement.
