Job Description

Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Morrison Hill)
Department / Section : Department of Engineering
Ref. no : O/MH-ENG/PTE_L(BSE)/11/25
Subject Areas:
Electrical Services Fundamentals, Electrical Installation, HVAC Technology, Indoor Environment and HVAC Systems.
Major Duties:
(a) To perform teaching duties including supervision of students projects and fieldwork placement
(b) To carry out duties in relation to student and academic administration
(c) To develop programme curriculum and teaching, learning and assessment materials
(d) To assist in validation and accreditation of programmes and
(e) To participate in networking with industry / industrial attachments, departmental projects and functions including but not limited to consultancy services, research studies, seminars and exhibitions.
Requirements:
(a) A relevant recognised degree in Building Services / Electrical / Mechanical Engineering or equivalent professional qualifications, preferably with a post-graduate qualification
(b) At least 3 years relevant teaching and/or industry experience
(c) Good communication, presentation, teaching, and facilitation skills in both English and Chinese and
(d) Good records of linkage with industry / professional bodies or with solid industrial experience would be an advantage.
Notes:
(1) Applicants with substantial experience and achievements in the relevant field but without the required academic / professional qualifications OR those with exceptional academic / professional qualifications but with less experience may also apply.
(2) Shortlisted candidates will be required to take a written assessment.
(3) Evening classes normally run between 6:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
