This role is designed to provide all aspects of Operational Management and Quality Assurance to ensure the best possible fruit is being delivered across the market. The role is integral to T&G's Asia business, the Operations Manager will be responsible for establishing and then executing Supply & Quality Control performance in support of the commercial opportunities created by the Sales & Marketing team.
Key areas of responsibility:
- Ensure that the market has consistent supply of fit for purpose fruit that meets the market demand. Ensure that operational activities remain on time and within budget.
- Communicaterelevant supply requirements, Quality results and other operationalinformation to New Zealand Corporate Office and the in market commercialteams as required. Capture, analyse and report on quality inspectionresults accurately and in a timely manner, escalating key trends asappropriate.
- Oversee the day- to- day operationof the in -market supply chains, Quality check process and ensuring thosesystems are fit for purpose and to a degree, future proof. Increase the efficiency ofexisting processes and procedures to enhance the company's internalcapacity.
- Own the Supply Chain processesincluding Planning, Shipping, Inventory Control, Warehousing, Distributionand Logistics for products and value-added services. Own and improve Taiwan Sales andOperations Planning (S&OP) process to optimize customer service levelsand working capital using forecasting and inventory control bestpractices.
- Ability to track and manageshipment processes, coordinating with suppliers and logistics providers. Knowledge ofcustoms procedures, tax regulations, and import laws, ensuring timely andaccurate processing.
- Anticipate factors influencing demand, such as seasonalfluctuations, while maintaining a deep understanding of demand inputs(e.g., seasonality, inventory policy) and their effects on downstreamfactors (inventory, capacity, lead time, cost, replenishment demand).
- Manage the stakeholder relationships with our Service Providers/ 3PL partners in a way that encourages high-performance and cost effectiveness. Maintain constant communication with managers, staff, and vendors to ensure proper operation of the company.
- Advise T&G Taiwan/ Asia management on any current supply & quality issues that many impact on future availability of fruit. Recommend system and tool improvements, implement and measure operational changes.
Skills & Requirements
Essential:
- Undergraduate Diploma or equivalent
- At least 8 years experience in an operations management role, supply chain, import, export, purchasing roles.
- Analytical, Demand & Supply planning, logistics & Shipment, Inventory management, QC, S&OP process
- Strong Excel skills, including database development
- Good English verbal and written
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in operations management, business administration, supply chain Management, or related field.
- Familiar with Microsoft Navision (ERP)
- Previous experience in FMCG or fresh produce industry
