Lead the strategic implementation and governance of AI initiatives within Operations, ensuring AI systems are risktiered, controlled, and supported by robust operating procedures to protect customer outcomes and operational integrity. Embed clear first line accountability, independent challenge/QA, and lifecycle oversight (from registration to monitoring and incident management), aligned with Group AI governance standards and the GL8 expectations for governance, documentation, and supervisory readiness.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Lead and implement the AI Governance framework

Drive the implementation and continuous enhancement of the Operations AI governance and control framework across the AI lifecycle. This includes establishing risk classification, defining governance requirements, maintaining AI use case inventory/registration, and ensuring AI systems follow documented governance procedures and oversight mechanisms aligned to regulatory expectations and internal standards.

2. Drive AI governance capability and accountability

Establish and embed first line ownership for AI governance. Build the operating model, capabilities, and stakeholder engagement required for AI System Owners and delivery teams to fulfil governance obligations (e.g., risk assessment, evidence preparation, and control implementation). Embed a culture of responsible AI through structured change management and continuous improvement initiatives that safeguard customer outcomes and operational integrity, aligned with Group standards and the Proposed revised GL8 governance/accountability expectations.

3.Strengthen AI governance oversight, risk tiering, and reporting

Oversee governance structures and risk management practices for AI, including maintaining a consistently applied risk-tiering approach and a formal inventory of AI systems. Coordinate governance reporting and readiness activities so the organization can evidence clear roles, accountability, and lifecycle controls (from development to retirement) in line with the GL8 governance/accountability themes.

4.Enhance AI awareness, monitoring readiness, and thirdparty AI risk management

Lead training and awareness initiatives to strengthen AI literacy and governance competence across stakeholders. Coordinate ongoing monitoring expectations (e.g., validation/performance monitoring, control effectiveness reviews, escalation/override management) and strengthen thirdparty AI due diligence and ongoing vendor oversight for AI solutions integrated into Operations processes.

5.Support reviews from Operations Governance perspective

Provide subject matter input and coordination support for internal/external reviews, audits, and supervisory readiness activities related to AI systems. Ensure AI governance artefacts and documentation are audit-ready and that issues identified through assurance activities are tracked through remediation and lessons learned.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Risk Management, Technology, or a related discipline.

  • Demonstrated experience in AI governance / model risk / technology risk / operational risk / compliance / controls & assurance roles, with a track record of building or operationalizing governance frameworks, including clear accountability and audit-ready documentation.

  • Proven ability to implement AI lifecycle governance controls, including risk classification/tiering, AI use case inventory/registration, design review/control testing, periodic control effectiveness assessment, and incident management / Root Cause Analysis / remediation tracking.

  • Strong capability to support regulatory and supervisory readiness by producing and challenging evidence aligned to GL8 themes such as risk identification & tiering, governance & accountability, documentation/explainability, transparency (e.g., disclosure/opt-out/escalation), fairness & data governance.

  • Familiarity with AI system registers and governance workflows (e.g., maintaining a complete AI inventory, supporting approvals/recertification, and ensuring traceability of risks/controls/ethics/performance information).

  • Hands-on experience with thirdparty / vendor AI governance, including due diligence expectations and ongoing monitoring of vendor commitments and controls for AI solutions used in Operations.

  • Excellent problem-solving and project management capabilities, with experience leading cross-functional initiatives.

  • High proficiency in both English and Chinese, with strong communication skills to engage stakeholders and present to senior leadership.

  • Professional certification in AI governance/risk, information security/privacy related qualifications (e.g., AAIA, CISA, CRISC) is an advantage.
