Overview
As an L1 Network Engineer, you will provide proactive and reactive technical support to our global customers. You will work closely with clients to understand their network environment, assist in troubleshooting, and ensure smooth daily operations. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about networking technologies and eager to grow their technical expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first-level support for network-related issues across switching, routing, wireless, and data center technologies.
- Assist in diagnosing and resolving technical problems by following established troubleshooting procedures.
- Perform basic configuration checks, log analysis, and initial fault isolation to support customer environments.
- Escalate complex issues to L2/L3 teams with accurate documentation and troubleshooting details.
- Collaborate with internal support, engineering, and TAC teams to ensure timely issue resolution.
- Support customers in maintaining stable network operations while delivering excellent customer service.
- Participate in continuous learning to keep up with new products, features, and technologies.
- Contribute to knowledge base updates, documentation, and process improvements.
Required Skills & Knowledge
Networking Fundamentals
- Understanding of Switching technologies: STP, RSTP, MSTP, VLAN, VTP, LACP.
- Basic knowledge of Cisco Switching Platforms: Catalyst (6500, 6800, 4500, 3850) and Nexus (7K, 6K, 5K, 3K).
- Familiarity with Data Center technologies (Nexus, ACI) and Enterprise Networking (Routing, Switching, Wireless, SD-WAN).
Server & Storage Basics
- Experience supporting server hardware (blade and rack systems).
- Basic understanding of Storage concepts and Ethernet/SAN environments.
- Knowledge of installing or updating drivers and firmware.
- Familiarity with UCS B-series & C-series platforms is an advantage.
Operating Systems
- Basic knowledge of Windows Server, VMware, or Linux operating systems.
Experience & Education
- 13 years of experience in a technical support or troubleshooting environment.
- CCNA (Routing & Switching or Data Center) is preferrable.
- Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
