CORPORATE INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

Interns will experience an innovative learning environment that will provide an opportunity to build skills and gain exposure in the exciting world of hospitality through meaningful projects, on-the-job training, coaching, and support. You'll gain hands-on experience in the exciting world of hotel operations and hospitality from a corporate view. You'll build skills to help prepare you to develop a career path.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • Candidate must be currently enrolled in a university or hotel school degree program at time of application.
  • University or Hotel School undergraduates specializing and studying in hospitality related fields will be preferred for certain internship positions.
  • For more specialist disciplines, for example those students pursuing business or similar related courses, consideration is also given for those related internship opportunities.

PREFERRED SKILLS + ATTRIBUTES

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work in group settings and/or independently.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task several projects.
  • Demonstrates problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrates creativity and innovation.

RESPONSIBILITIES + REQUIREMENTS

The intern will work for Marriott International's Rooms Operations team. Key responsibilities include:

  • Project Development: Participate in high-level project development meetings with our leadership team. Contribute fresh perspectives and valuable input to drive forward rooms operations-related initiatives.
  • Project Management: Assist in the launch and management of key projects, ensuring they are executed efficiently and effectively.
  • Market Research: Conduct in-depth market research on the latest trends and performance metrics in Rooms Discipline. Provide insights that will help the team stay competitive and innovative.
  • Data Analysis: Consolidate operational data, support the analysis of findings, and present actionable insights to drive continuous improvement.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Liaise with hotel leaders to gather information and feedback, ensuring projects are completed successfully in a timely manner.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

This internship presents interns with the opportunity to identify emerging hospitality trends and actively engage in rooms operations-related projects. Interns will play a pivotal role in the ideation, conceptualization, and launch of initiatives aimed at optimizing the efficiency and effectiveness of rooms operations within a world-class hospitality company.

Moreover, interns will actively utilize data to analyze problems and provide data-driven strategies. Through active participation in these projects, interns will gain invaluable insights and skills essential for thriving in the hospitality industry. They will also have the chance to collaborate closely with various stakeholders gaining hands-on experience in communication and strategic decision-making within a dynamic corporate environment.
